Abstract
Long-pulsed alexandrite laser is well-known for its excellent
performance on hair removal treatment. It is one of the best choice of
instruments for photoepilation. However, this kind of laser apparatus is
so expensive that it will be more wonderful if more indications
provided.
Trichostasis spinulosa is a common follicular disorder but often diagnosed as blackheads. It is characterized as retention of vellus hairs circumvented by a keratinous sheath in a follicle, and can be treated with multiple sessions of long-pulsed alexandrite laser.
Chrysiasis is a gold deposition disorder due to usage of gold salts, usually for the therapy of rheumatoid arthritis. Long-term sun exposure or irradiation with Q-switched laser may induce the expression of chrysiasis. It can be treated with long-pulsed alexandrite laser.
Besides, long-pulsed alexandrite laser is able to be combined with other laser instruments for cosmetic purposes. The experiences and techniques will be discussed.
